Cryogenic Manager

Purpose of the Position: 

The Cryogenic Manager will oversee the day to day operations of the Cryogenic Department. They will provide daily assistance to the Sales Department with their prospective bulk system and piping job needs; this specifically includes proper sizing of bulk tanks and the appropriate ancillary equipment. They will be responsible for coordinating site surveys, quoting material, and the negotiations of associated equipment with our vendors. The Cryogenic Manager will coordinate with customers and vendors all piping and bulk installations for proper compliance and to ensure the appropriate materials and tools are provided to safely execute the project. They will schedule and verify all customer bulk tanks by performing annual tank inspections. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and hold the cryogenic technicians accountable 
  • Approve weekly time clock system regarding regular, overtime and paid time-off hours 
  • Conduct regular employee evaluations and performance reviews 
  • Establish and consistently maintain the EOS/Traction operations through L-10 meetings 
  • Complete proper paperwork for bulk tank and pipe installations, providing all necessary documents to the customer (to include bulk forms, quotes, etc.)
  • Perform site surveys of bulk system installations
  • Survey customers after job completions to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Order tanks, equipment, and other materials needed for bulk and pipe installs 
  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, and technicians all cryogenic piping and bulk tank installations; to include concrete pads, fences, bollards, piping material, equipment delivery, cranes, and first tank fills
  • Work with city and local inspectors when needed
  • Work with Accounts Payable to invoice all piping jobs to ensure proper billing codes
  • Schedule and maintain inventory and safety records for annual bulk tank inspections
  • Schedule mixer calibrations providing summary reports to customers
  • Manage and maintain the appearance of customer bulk tanks which includes painting and company labels
  • Ensure bulk sales process is being followed by all involved
  • Work with competitors when needed on bulk tank removals and first time tank fills
  • Develop and standardize annual training requirements to build the capabilities of a driven and diverse team
  • Prioritize and schedule service calls with the cryogenic technicians, may include on-site visits
  • Work with vendors to negotiate bulk tank pricing and manage equipment warranties

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other job duties as special projects as assigned by your supervisor

Education, Experience & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Prior industry experience or basic knowledge of gases and cryogenics
  • 3-5 years of previous customer service experience is preferred
  • Basic plumbing knowledge preferred
  • Proficient computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be organized, have good reasoning skills, math aptitude and time management skills

Equipment Used

  • Office equipment and computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ERP Software
  • Safety shoes and safety glasses required; gloves, hearing protection, and welding gear when applicable

Job Specifications/Requirements

Be able to sit for 5-6 hours per day with occasional walking, standing, twisting, bending, kneeling, crouching and repetitive motions. Occasional lifting of 0-20 pounds, may at times lift up to 50 pounds. Reach at, above, and below shoulder level. Continuous fine finger manipulation, including grasping and handling. Frequent twist head/neck, talk and hear. Must be able to travel as necessary to customer site, between company locations, and for training or conferences.
