WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

 

Department: Warehouse

Location: St. Paul

Reports To: Operations Manager 

Job Status: Non-Exempt

 

Summary

The warehouse associate is responsible for pulling and preparing orders in an efficient manner to ensure quality customer service while maintaining warehouse organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load and unload delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment (i.e. operating forklifts) and maintain warehouse organization
  • Inspect deliveries from vendors for product damages and notify management of any defects
  • Assist internal personnel with carousel operations to maintain inventory control
  • Manage customer auto cribs; includes creating tickets, pulling orders, and delivering product
  • Prepare and complete daily orders for customer shipments/deliveries; includes picking orders, material packaging, labeling shipments, and paperwork completion
  • Maintain company-wide standards by fulfilling customer orders accurately
  • Assist company personnel with daily vehicle preparation for customer deliveries
  • Compare merchandise and packing slips to verify serial numbers and quantities delivered
  • Assist shipping lead in the completion of daily cycle counting
  • Maintain cleanliness of warehouse to ensure safety of all employees, vendors and visitors
  • Operate forklift to load/unload pallets and heavy materials
  • Communicate inventory concerns to customers and management promptly

 

Other Responsibilities

  • May travel to customer sites providing inventory needs for auto cribs 
  • Perform other job duties as assigned and fill in for other employees in their absence

 

Education, Experience & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred
  • Valid Class D driver’s license required
  • Certified forklift operator is a plus
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and basic customer service experience
  • Must be organized, have good reasoning skills, math aptitude and time management skills

 

Equipment Used

  • Forklift, 2 wheel dollies, order picker, banding machine, and numerous carts 
  • Office equipment, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP Software, and UPS Software 
  • Various tools such as box cutter, plastic taper, scale, and impulse sealer 
  • Basic hand and power tools such as saws, impact drills, etc. 
  • Safety Gear; steeled toe boots, safety glasses, gloves

 

Job Specifications/Requirements

  • Be able to stand on your feet 7 to 8 hours a day with lots of walking, twisting, bending, reaching, lifting/carrying, grasping and repetitive motions; with occasional sitting and pushing/pulling
  • Frequent lifting of 20-45lbs is required, may at times lift up to 75lbs
  • Reoccurring Pushing/pulling of 75lbs
  • Ability to work in moderately warm or cold conditions where high noise levels are possible
  • Ability to travel to customer sites to service their auto cribs
