Human Resources Internship

Position: Human Resources Internship

Department: Human Resources| Location: St. Paul

Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm | Job Status: Non- Exempt

Reports to: Human Resource Director

Oxygen Service Co. is excited to offer a 12-week paid summer Internship in the Human Resources Department. This position will focus primarily on recruitment, onboarding, and training and development. They will also have the ability to work on a large company initiative surrounding a new employee training and development program.

Essential Responsibilities

• Create or update current job descriptions
• Post positions on appropriate sites, schedule pre-employment screenings, and conduct interview process with the hiring teams
• Assist with the onboarding procedure for all new hires, providing a positive overview of the company and culture
• Develop and manage a company training matrix for position and department specific requirements
• Develop an internal curriculum of courses or training required to provided succession planning opportunities
• Aid in the research process for an internal Learning Management System
• Support the HR Director and CFO in the employee benefit renewal and open enrollment process

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other related field
• Self-motivated, process minded, and open to learning and teaching others
• Proficient computer skills especially in Microsoft Suite
• Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization
• Organized, strong attention to detail, and ability to handle and manage confidential information

Buyer/ Planner

Position: Buyer/Planner

Department: Purchasing | Hours: 7:00am-4:00pm | Job Status: Exempt | St. Paul Location

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

The Buyer/Planner is primarily responsible for procuring goods and services, specifically for welding and industrial use, to meet the Company’s operational requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

Purchasing

  • Prepare accurate purchase orders for a variety of materials and supplies
  • Communicate with vendors on order accuracy, status, and delivery timelines
  • Monitor the purchase order expedite report and update expected delivery dates in ERP system

Inventory Control

  • Create part numbers for all purchased goods with the proper replenishment method in ERP system
  • Assist in company initiatives to reduce inactive inventory
  • Monitor weekly fill rate report and make recommendations to achieve company service level goal
  • Audit and update inventory item master data including product categories, stocking status, bin locations, equivalencies, UPC’s, and product descriptions

Vendor Management

  • Identify areas of opportunity to consolidate business to preferred vendors
  • Partner with vendors to successfully implement product promotions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 2+ years of purchasing or inventory experience in a distribution environment desired
  • Advanced skills in Windows based Microsoft Office and general ERP systems
  • Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques (lean, 6 sigma)
  • Industry recognized certification (APICS, ISM) preferred

Plant Associate - Cylinder Handler

Position: Plant Associate – Cylinder Handler (Two openings)

Department: Plant | Job Status: Non-Exempt | St Paul Location

Hours: 4:30am-1:00pm or 8:30am – 5:00pm

Reports to the Gas Operations Manager

The Plant Associate-Cylinder Handler is responsible for performing a combination of job duties associated with the compressed/liquefied/cryogenic gas business and supporting the overall responsibilities within the plant and delivery departments.

Essential Responsibilities

• Load/unload cylinders/tanks on vehicles and record type and quantity of cylinders
• Ensure protection caps are secured over valves and cylinders are labeled correctly
• Remove valves and install reconditioned valves on cylinders
• Support in filling cylinders with numerous gases such as Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, Helium, etc.
• Vaporize liquid gases and fill tube trailers when needed
• Assist with dry ice production in the plant
• Assist in pumping from bulk forms to smaller cylinders according to customer orders

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of gases, cryogenics, i.e. pressure and compatibility is preferred
• Industry experience such as handling cylinders is desired
• Certified forklift operator is a plus
• Ability to make decisions based on facts and attain precise set limits

Automation Technician III

Position: Automation Technician III

Department: Automation | Hours:7am-4pm | Job Status: Non-exempt | Sartell Location

Reports to the Automation & Service Manager

The Automation Technician III is responsible for traveling to customer sites and completing repairs, installations, integrations and programming in a safe and timely manner. They will also design and build intermediate to advanced custom cell programming providing top customer service to all clients of the company.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Safely perform automation repairs, installs and integrations according to schedule while in high voltage areas
  • Design automation machines according to business operations and the customer’s needs/requests
  • Perform intermediate to advanced software programming, modifications and updates
  • Estimate product implementation costs and obtain authorization prior to beginning work
  • Communicate clearly to internal and external customers regarding the nature of any service, repair or integration
  • Contact vendors to obtain repair items, components and information as needed
  • Create invoices and submit requests to purchase parts according to customer needs

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Associates Degree or Certificate in electronics, manufacturing, automation, robotics or other applicable degree
  • 2+ years of previous experience in electronic circuitry preferred; or combination of the listed education and experience
  • Must have high attention to detail and be organized
  • Proficient in robotic programming software

Outside Sales Representative

Position: Outside Sales Representative (Sauk Rapids Location)

Department:Sales | Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm | Job Status: Exempt | Sauk Rapids Location

Reports to: Sales Manager

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the company’s sales goals through professional sales techniques and good customer service, maintaining quality relations with existing accounts, and providing sales and marketing coverage.

Essential Responsibilities

• Sell welding equipment, materials, and supplies to customers using technical knowledge, advising, and trouble-shooting problems
• Develop maximum sales potential out of assigned territory through competitive sales techniques and knowledge of the company products and services as well as the competitive strengths/weaknesses
• Work with Purchasing Department to maintain appropriate inventory levels communicating current and future needs
• Responsible for managing customer accounts to include orders, DSO, and disputes as they arise
• Maintain target list making cold calls to potential and current customers
• Responsible for creating quotes, maintaining customer files, and account coordination and maintenance
• Maintain CRM and/or scorecard metrics to increase market share

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Certificate in business related field is a plus
• 5+ years in welding or related industry with sales or customer service experience preferred
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP Software
• Ability to work alone, influence people in opinions, attitudes, and judgements
• Must be organized and have good time management, with the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines
